Pooja Rana is Professor of Media Studies, Amity School of Communication, Gurgaon. She has 15 years of academic and industry experience. She previously served as Associate Professor at an affiliated college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. She is an English literature graduate from St. Bede’s College, Shimla, MSc in Mass Communication and doctorate in media studies from Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, India. Her PhD dissertation formed the basis for the publication of a book, Supplement Journalism in India. Rana was the Associate Editor of a refereed International Journal of Communication Research Mass Communicator for five years. She is on the editorial board of a leading publishing house, Pentagon Press. She has also edited a book, Media in the Swirl. She has also published a number of research papers in national and international journals. Rana has published 8 books. She was conferred Shiksha Rattan Puraskar and Certificate of Excellence by India International Friendship Society, New Delhi.
Avatans has over 15 years of experience in IT and Integrated Marketing Consulting. As an IT consultant, he worked with large US brokerage firms, and hedge fund managers, banks and other financial institutions. As a marketing consultant, Mr Kumar has helped several small/mid-size companies to develop and execute integrated marking plans. An MBA from Webster University, he also holds a graduate degree in Linguistics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Avatans has several years of teaching experience both at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. A poet and an avid sports fan, Avatans volunteers as the Athletic Director and a Basketball coach at his daughter‘s junior high school.
Dr Asheesh Kumar is Associate Fellow at Institute of Governance, Policies and Politics, New Delhi. He holds a Doctorate in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Dr Kumar was a Senior Research Fellow of University Grants Commission. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious ‘Young Sociologist Award’ by Indian Sociological Society. Before joining IGPP he was working with internationally acclaimed Global Studies Program as its Student Coordinator (India). Beside GSP he has also worked with Centre for Social Research as Consultant, as Programme Officer (India) for ‘Building Global Democracy Project’ of the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He also had a short stint of teaching at JNU. At present he is also associated with Indian Sociological Society as Deputy Editor of its Research Publication.
Ashima Singh is a senior academician in the Department of Journalism & Mass Communications at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, IP University. A doctorate in Media Studies, her core areas of research are Public Relations and Communication theories. She is a member and trainer of the project of UNICEF on Media collective for child rights in Chhattisgarh. She has worked as a producer and an anchor for Sahara Samay, Zee News, News 24, AIR. She has published papers in national and international journals. She has an expertise in management of events and also PR for an organizations. She has convened and has participated and in various Media conferences and Industry interaction sessions for educational institutions. Being a researcher and an academician she has produced research papers which are published in journals of national and international repute
Deepali is a driven and experienced professional with ten plus years of business experience in media, marketing and communication. Currently she is serving as Vice President Marketing at Haggle, a Canadian procurement company. She is also pursuing her Executive Masters in Business Administration at Telfer School of Management from University of Ottawa, Canada. Her eclectic career arc in IT, media, banking and non-profit sector allowed her to constantly remain up-to-date with the latest industry trends and develop a hands-on, transparent and flexible professional mind-set, while getting acquainted with all the personal and practical skills needed to offer the best possible performance. When she is not busy haggling (which she absolutely loves!), you would find her spending some leisure time at the beach with her loving husband and two beautiful kids.
